" Travel turns everything upside down."

THE WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL AND SO ARE WE
“I want to travel the world, I want to enjoy it, see it,” Slovenian writer Alma Karlin once wrote. This
globetrotter described us so well, anyone can identify with her yearning and explorative spirit. The world is
beautiful, and people want to be surrounded with beautiful and enjoyable things. Someone will find beauty
in a country house, another in a tiny island amidst the vastness of the sea; somebody will appreciate a
painting, while another will treasure a wooden sailboat… All beautiful things communicate stories (impassioned,
sad, or victorious) which all admirers will be familiar with. For instance how a cutting edge travel
agency grew out of a family company, how a mayor turned some neglected and abandoned city into one
of the finest and safest seaside resorts, how all pilots wanted to own a special watch which was obtainable
in only one place in the world. Although it seems that today everything is attainable and that we know
everything about everything, deep down we have to admit it’s not that simple. It we want to expand our
knowledge, we have to travel. Our inquisitive mind will urge us to discover unusual countries, meet new
people, and be thrilled by new acquisitions that make our lives easier. We wish to feast our eyes on beautiful
things, wear fashionable clothes, drive luxurious cars, and dine in trendy restaurants where everything
fits perfectly; from furniture to napkins. We are talking about the discovery of things that we personally find
beautiful, that mean a lot to us. The richness of life, the intensity of existence, if you like.
And what happens when one combines all beautiful things? One gets the international tourism show
Turisticum 2012, will take place in October 2012 in Ljubljana. Everybody will be there: tourist agencies, firstclass
hotels and selected destinations, air carriers, banks, insurance companies, casinos; in short, everyone
involved in tourism. There will be ample opportunity for social gatherings as well as furnishing travellers
with information they need to obtain before embarking on a journey. Our aim is for the fair to become
traditional and exclusive, as befits all beautiful things.
We look forward to welcoming you at the traditional International Tourism Fair, Turisticum 2012.
